The opportunity

Two seats are open on the NOA Board of Directors. Each carries a three-year term, January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2029.
At least one of the two seats will be filled by a qualified chief or senior-level staff officer.
NOA is led by six individuals serving on a working board who guide program development, host virtual experiences, and advance the Alliance's mission.

How to nominate

Complete the Online Nomination Form by Wednesday, October 7, 2026. It must be completed by or for the nominee.
Each nominee must have written support from their NOA member organization.

What happens next

Candidate information is shared with member organizations after the slate is set, by October 24.
Member organizations vote at the Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, November 14, 2026, during the Fall Virtual Summit. Nominations are not accepted from the floor.

The Nursing Organizations Alliance (NOA) was formed when two long‑standing coalitions united to create an enduring collaborative for the community of nursing.

At a special meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, leaders voted to merge the National Federation for Specialty Nursing Organizations (NFSNO) and the Nursing Organizations Liaison Forum (NOLF), creating a single, stronger voice for national nursing organizations.

Today, NOA continues that legacy by serving as a neutral, trusted space where nursing organizations align around governance, workforce, and professional practice priorities.

Bringing together presidents, presidents‑elect, and staff executives.
Supporting collaboration instead of competition among organizations.
Creating a forum to anticipate and respond to emerging issues in nursing.

Membership

Membership is open to any nursing organization focused on addressing current healthcare issues, including structural nursing components of multi‑disciplinary organizations.
